How do I book a service?
Pick a service from the home screen, choose ASAP (next available fixer) or Scheduled (a specific time), set the address, and confirm payment. We match you with a verified fixer in your area and you’ll be notified as soon as one accepts.
What's the difference between ASAP and Scheduled?
ASAP broadcasts your job to nearby available fixers and the first one to accept is yours. Scheduled lets you pick a specific date and time so we can confirm the slot in advance.
How do recurring services work?
When you pick a frequency other than One-time (Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly), you save with a recurring discount. We charge your default card automatically each cycle so service never gets interrupted. The card you use at signup becomes your default — you can change it anytime in Profile → Payment Methods.
Where is my card stored, and what if I want to use a different one?
Cards are stored securely with Stripe, never on our servers. Manage saved cards in Profile → Payment Methods: add a new one, set a different one as default, or remove a card you no longer use. The default card is what gets charged for adjustments and recurring cycles.
My payment failed — what now?
Open Profile → Payment Issues. You can retry the failed charge, or tap "Update payment method" to add a new card and set it as default. If retries are exhausted, you’ll see a clear "Payment Failed" message and we won’t keep trying that card; reach out to support if you think this is a mistake.
The fixer wants to charge for extra work — what happens?
Fixers can request a job adjustment from the job after they check in. You'll see exactly what they're proposing and the new total before approving or denying. If you approve, we charge the difference on your default card. If you deny — or don't respond in time — the fixer finishes only the originally agreed scope and no extra is charged.
How do I reschedule a recurring service?
Open the upcoming occurrence and tap Reschedule. You can either move just this one occurrence (the rest of the series stays on its original cadence) or shift the whole series so every future occurrence moves with it. One-time bookings cannot be rescheduled — you would need to cancel and rebook for a different time.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes — open the job and tap Cancel. More than 24 hours ahead, you get a full refund. Less than 24 hours, a $15 processing fee applies. Within 2 hours of the appointment, the full job amount is charged. See Terms of Service for the full cancellation policy.
The fixer didn't show up — what now?
We'll get automatically alerted on our side, but you can always raise a message in your job to the Administrators or message support.
Why am I being charged tax and a service fee?
Tax is calculated by Stripe based on your service address; what we collect is what we remit. The service fee covers payment processing, fixer matching, and customer support. You'll see the full breakdown — service price, fee, tax — before paying.
How do I update my address or delete my account?
Saved Addresses are in Profile → Saved Addresses. To delete your account, go to Profile → Privacy & Security and tap Delete Account, then confirm with your password. Deletion is permanent and removes your personal details. You can't delete your account while you have active or upcoming jobs or an active recurring service — cancel or finish those first. For a copy of your data, contact support — we'll send it within 30 days per applicable privacy laws.
How do I get paid?
FixyFix pays fixers biweekly. Any jobs whose payments have cleared and hold period is finished will be paid out on the next biweekly payout.
Why isn't my money available immediately after a job?
There's a short review window after each job for the customer to flag issues, plus the time it takes the original card payment to clear with the card networks (typically 2 business days for US cards). Once both timers expire we mark the transfer eligible and it goes out on the next payout run.
What are the steps to a job?
You see the job in your queue → tap Accept → travel to the address → tap Check In when you arrive (this puts the job In Progress). If the actual scope differs from what the customer ordered, you can request an Adjustment from the same screen after checking in. When the work is done, tap Check Out — that completes the job and starts the payment cycle.
The customer's job description doesn't match what I see — what do I do?
Check in first, then request an Adjustment from the job screen. Pick the modifiers that reflect the actual scope and submit — the customer will see the new total and can approve or deny. If they deny (or don't respond), you finish the originally agreed scope and are paid the original amount.
How do adjustments get paid out?
Once a customer approves an adjustment we charge their card off-session. The adjustment portion shows up as a separate ADJUSTMENT transfer alongside your base earnings for that job. If the off-session charge fails, the customer is prompted to retry; you're notified about the resolution but you keep working as if the original scope is in effect until they pay.
I can't make a job — how do I reassign?
Tap Decline before you accept, or use the Reassignment Request flow if you've already accepted. Reassigning more than once or close to the appointment time may affect your acceptance score. If you don't show, the job is auto-cancelled and the customer is refunded.
My "Stripe — Bank & Documents" button says I need to finish onboarding — why?
The Stripe Express Dashboard is only available after Stripe has fully onboarded you (identity verification + bank link complete). If you see this message, finish onboarding from Profile → Onboarding. Once your status is Verified, the Bank & Documents button works normally.
Where do I find my 1099 / tax forms?
Inside the Stripe Express Dashboard (tap "Stripe — Bank & Documents" on your profile). Stripe issues 1099-K to fixers who meet the IRS reporting threshold; you can download it from Documents in the dashboard at year-end.
How do I update my service area, radius, or available services?
Profile → Service Settings. You can change your service radius, the services you offer, and your home base address. Active jobs already accepted are unaffected by these changes.
I got a "capability revoked" message from Stripe — what does that mean?
Stripe needs more information from you before they'll process new transfers (often a tax form, an updated ID, or a verified bank account). Open Stripe — Bank & Documents and follow the prompts — once you've resolved Stripe's requirements, your transfers resume automatically.
What's the difference between a transfer and a payout?
A transfer is the platform → your Stripe account credit for one specific job (you'll see one for each completed job, plus a separate one for any approved adjustment). A payout is the periodic bank-deposit batch where one or more eligible transfers move from your Stripe balance to your real bank.
How do I delete my account?
Scroll to the bottom of Help & Support and tap Delete Account, then confirm with your password. Deletion is permanent and removes your personal details. You can't delete while you have active or upcoming jobs or a pending payout — finish or cancel your jobs and wait for your final payout to be sent first.
